Honeywell HW1000i Gas Powered Inverter Generator Review
Whenever Honeywell launches a new product, we have to sit there and stare at it for a while, just to work out what it actually is. The exact same thing went for the Honeywell HW1000i. Seriously - if you didn't know in advance that it was a home, gas powered generator, you would probably mistake it for a gas canister or something.
Thankfully, we weren't tricked for long - and before we even had time to think twice, we had ordered the Honeywell HW1000i with the intention of trying it out and putting it through its paces. How did it perform? Keep reading below to find out.

Power Output
This model in the Honeywell series is the baby of the family, providing us with just 900 watts of continuous power, and 1000 watts of surge power. That's barely enough to run a home gaming computer or 9 light bulbs at once - so don't expect this machine to cover you for 2 days when the national power grid fails!
1000 watts will come in quite handy for leisure activities however. People who enjoy camping, hunting, RVing, and so on will probably find the most use for this product.
Engine Details
Cooking up the power in this machine is a 53cc engine, which runs on unleaded gasoline. You'll be able to fill the machine with just 0.71 of a gallon of petrol at a time - but this is enough to provide you with a stunning 5 hours of running time at 50% load. The compact nature of this engine means that the whole product weighs in at less than 30 pounds - making it extremely portable and flexible.
Onboard Technology
As you would expect with a product such as this - there isn’t much in the way of on board technology to satisfy the tech or mechanical lovers out there. The product does come with a tool kit, and you'll find one 15A, 120V outlet, and one 12V DC outlet on the side. And that's it!

The Honeywell HW1000i Gas Powered Inverter Generator doesn't blow us out of the water or set our pants on fire - at least we hope it won't. This is a solid home generator, deserving of a 4.5 star ranking, and even a gold medal when it comes to reliability and efficiency. It's yet another great design and execution job from the manufacturer, Honeywell.
