Generac 5626 GP7000E Gas Powered Generator Review
Typically, Generac is an exceptional brand for consumers looking for highly durable and long lasting goods. Most of the Generac range uses high density materials during construction - with the end result being a product which almost never breaks down - no matter how long you use it for.
The Generac 5626 GP7000E certainly lives up to this durability standard - and we would know. The first thing our clumsy office assistant did when opening the package on the office front door step was to drop it off the side - resulting in a 3 foot drop to the garden below. Thankfully, not only did the generator survive - it performed exceptionally - with the results of our tests included below.

Power Output
When it comes to rating power output - there are two key figures to look at. The first is the continuous wattage - which shows you the amount of constant energy you'll be able to utilize whilst the generator is running. In this case, the Generac 5626 GP7000E is able to produce 7000 watts of running energy - which is equivalent to the power of 70, 100 watt light bulbs.
The second figure is the "surge" allowance - which shows you the maximum load that the generator can handle at any one time. Often, when you start appliances, more power is needed at the beginning than during constant operation. Again, with the Generac 5626 GP7000E - you receive 8750 of surge power allowance.
Engine Details
Powering the Generac 5626 GP7000E is a 410cc engine - which has been developed such that there is no recoil starting mechanism. Everything on the Generac 5626 is electric powered, meaning that you barely have to lift a finger to get this device going.
Another handy engine feature is the hour meter for maintenance scheduling. Many home generators do not have a function which tells you the amount of time that it has been running for - and this makes it difficult to predict when servicing is necessary. Thankfully, the Generac 5626 GP7000E tells you the total amount of running time, and the amount of time since the last service.
Onboard Technology
The thing we like about reviewing Generac products is that you really never know what to expect until the particular generator model is sitting in front of you. In this case with the Generac 5626 GP7000E, we were pleasantly surprised by the myriad of additional extras which were included on the product.
For example, we've got a steel fuel tank on this model - which protects not only the machine itself, but also the user during the refilling and starting stages. An inbuilt fuel gage lets you immediately know how full the tank is. Furthermore, the wheel / support structure folds away for easy storage and positioning.
Our Rating of Generac 5626 GP7000E Gas Powered Generator
In the past, Generac has lagged behind many other home generator brands and models - simply because of the fact that the company chose to target consumers in the lower brackets (i.e. those who couldn't afford the more expensive products).
There seems to have been a change of heart somewhere along the line though, as the Generac 5626 GP7000E presents new ideas, and features that we haven't seen on any model before. Because of this, we award the GP7000E a full 5 stars, and we like the direction that this company is headed.
