If there is one manufacturer of home generators which is capable of producing heavy duty products - it's got to be All Power America. With the APG3560, they seem to have run along with the same sturdy, durable theme - and a simple picture of the product will prove this.
Assuming you can get over the lime green finish (which in the end, we couldn't) - you'll find this generator to be a pleasure to work with and have in the wings at home. It's always ready to start up at a moment's notice, and should provide enough energy to power the essentials in a small home.

One thing we have noticed from our testing of various home generators over time is that when a manufacturer decides to allow propane as the sole raw energy source, the energy output tends to be far more efficient. In this case, the APG3560 will hand you 5000 watts of unadulterated electricity, which should be more than enough to keep the essentials running in your house in the case of a power failure.
Furthermore, a full cycle of the product will enable you to up the power to 6000 watts temporarily if necessary - albeit for a limited time.
Engine Details
The All Power America APG3560 achieves its 5000 watt constant power output via the 13 horsepower propane driven motor. Unlike many other propane home generators, the APG3560 also has a built in electric starting mechanism, which ultimately makes the operation of the machine a total breeze. In fact, we haven't come across an easier product to start and stop than the APG3560.
Despite the evident efficiency of this propane reliant machine - strict regulations in California have deemed it non-CARB compliant, and therefore this product is unavailable to consumers in that state.
Onboard Technology
"Plug and play" is often a term associated with home computing - but in this case, we believe it should be applicable to the All Power America APG3560 as well! Getting this machine to work really is as simple as plugging in the propane cylinder and pushing a button, as All Power America have taken it upon themselves to implement an electric starting mechanism in this home generator model.
For the electrically minded, you'll find plenty on this machine to fool around with - including 2 AC 120V outlets, a twist lock 120V outlet, a 120V / 240V twist lock outlet, and a DC 12V outlet. If you have no idea what all that stuff is - a handy instruction manual will soon fill you in - so don't panic!
Our Rating of All Power America APG3560 Propane Powered Portable Generator
It would be slightly unfair of us to subtract points from the All Power America APG3560 generator simply because of its color scheme - however today; we've decided to do just that. Whoever decided upon the horrendous lime green coating of this product should be held directly responsible for the 0.5 of a star we are taking away from an otherwise exceptional machine. This leaves 4.5 stars remaining - and we believe that this figure truly underestimates the power and persistence of the All Power America APG3560 (i.e. if it was blue, it would have scored 5 stars!).
